Age Concern has recently inaugurated a new service in Marbella. The latest branch of Age Concern España, which incorporates Estepona/Manilva and Fuengirola/Mijas, will provide a range of services to help with integration into Spanish life and information, advice and support for common issues that affect the over-50s in the Marbella area. It will also work closely with the respective consuls of the countries that are represented along the coast.
Coffee mornings are held at the Padel Club in San Pedro de Alcántara on the first Thursday of each month and anyone is welcome to attend.
The charity is planning a series of fundraising events for the coming year in order to help promote and fund its services. It will also launch a recruitment programme for volunteers. The organisation is looking for people who can offer a few hours of their time to help with fundraising, home help and the numerous other services it offers.
Age Concern Marbella spokesperson, Lynda Woodin, said: “The most important thing at the moment is to attract volunteers to help us offer a sufficient service.”
Those interested can call the organisation's hotline (689 35 51 98).
