Licences for horse-drawn carriages to be withdrawn in Marbella

The council has said that having horses in the area was incompatible with its pedestrianisation plans and that they were not as popular with tourists anymore

The days of the horse-drawn carriages in Marbella are numbered. The local council has approved a plan to withdraw the licences, compensating around a dozen of the 19 permit holders 30,500 euros each before the end of the year.

The council has said that having horse-drawn carriages in the town was incompatible with its pedestrianisation plans and that the carriages were not as popular with tourists anymore.
