Final countdown to the Marbella Global Gift gala
The fundraising event on Sunday aims to support the launch of a new centre in the town for children with rare chronic diseases

Luis Fonsi, the smash- hit Puerto Rican singer of Despacito and other recent Latin music favourites, is one of several stars who have confirmed their attendance at the annual Global Gift gala dinner in Marbella on Sunday evening.
Fonsi is to get a special award for his charity work and will be one of the guests of honour at the event held at the Gran Meliá Don Pepe.
Many other celebrities will be in town for the gala including national names Chenoa, Blanca Cuesta, Borja Thyssen, Vogue Williams, Beatriz de Orleans and Carla Barber. International names include British singer-songwriter James Arthur, singer and star of CSI, Gary Dourdan, Andrea McLean, Laura Hamilton and Lisa Scott Lee.
Among the current fundraising activity of the Marbella-based Global Gift Foundation is collecting money to convert a villa loaned by Marbella council on a 30-year lease into a state-of-the-art treatment centre for children with rare and chronic diseases. They hope to open the new centre hopes to open by the end of the year.
