Works to bury the high-voltage electricity line which currently runs over two schools and a residential area in Xarblanca have been approved by Marbella council and will begin this month.
The council had previously delayed the works for eight months, much to the dismay of local residents, who had been petitioning for the cables to be buried for years.
The works were awarded to the company Cobra Instalaciones de Servicio for a sum of 760,000 euros.
