Mikel returns from Reus loan prematurely

One of the players caught up in the Reus saga is Malaga's Venezuelan centre-back Mikel.

The 25-year-old has returned to La Rosaleda after terminating his season-long loan but is unlikely to play a role between now and the end of the season.

With Pau Torres firmly established as the left-sided centre-half and Malaga looking to reduce the wage bill, it is most likely that a new loan deal will be sought for the defender who had made 12 appearances for the Catalans, ten of them from the start.
