The seventh edition of the Ruta de la Tapa in Almuñécar (Granada province) starts today and runs until 4 June. Nearly twenty bars and restaurants are taking part this year, all vying to offer the most innovative and tasty tapa.
The Gastrobar De la Flor, Seiva Fusión, Restaurante Firmum, Mesón del Gusto, Restaurante El Cortijillo, Cervecería El Cortijillo, Salitre Playa, Rosa Negra, Casa Paco, Bodega Francisco I, El Templo, Hotel San Cristóbal, Mesón Mari y Miguel, Mesón Gala, New Gala PInBall, Restaurante Casa La Parra, Mesón Emiliano and Restaurante El Árbol Blanco will all be competing to be win one of three prizes. First prize is 1,000 euros plus free entry and promotional advertising at the next Feria Gastronómica Almuñécar. Second prize is 300 euros and third, 100 euros.
The tapa and a drink (beer or a small glass of wine or soft drink) will cost 3.50 euros and the public can vote for their favourite tapa on a 'passport' available from the participating establishments.
