A return to Malaga 22 years after the exhibition organised by SUR

The newspaper's Culture Department and the regional government's Ministry of Culture organised an exhibition by Sean Scully at the Episcopal Palace in 1997
"It was curated by Francisco Parauta, who had the idea of putting the greys upstairs, nearer the sky, and the colours on the ground floor, nearer the earth and nature".
"I really like Malaga. It's a lovely city," Scully said at the CAC Malaga during the presentation of his new exhibition.
The acting artistic director of the Contemporary Art Centre, Helena Juncosa, said that in 1997 Scully had been exhibiting his characteristic abstract work, while this display, 'Eleuthera' features the figurative paintings he created between 2015 and 2018..
The CAC, which is owned by Malaga council, has just reopened after being closed for three months because of accumulated delays in awarding the new five-year contract for its management.
