The VII Romería de San Isidro takes place this Sunday. The procession will leave the centre of the town after 9am mass in the San Salvador church and head towards the Vega via the Río Verde.

Bee day

Colmenar.20 May.

Organised by the Malaga Bee Keepers Association the Museo de Miel (honey museum) will be having an open day from 10am and winners of the honey races and their families will be given a free guided tour. There will also be a candle making workshop for children and drawing competition.

Fiesta de la Naranja

Declared a a festival of cultural interest, the fiesta includes tastings of dishes made with the local oranges, including traditional cod salad.

Gaucho Festival

The cultures and traditions of Argentina will be celebrated at this festival. There will be stands with Argentinian crafts and gastronomy as well as live music.

Hard Drink and Harlots in Art

John Iddon will deliver a talk on the themes of sexuality and alcohol in art by discussing the works of great artists such as Hogarth, Degas, Lautrec and Picasso.

Ronda Romántica

Ronda.23-27 May. Streets and plazas of the town.

Town’s people dress in costumes from the 19th century and recreate events from Ronda’s past. There is a procession and historic fair and everyone joins in to bring back the time when Ronda was home to the ‘bandoleros’.
