Malaga-based tennis player Alejandro Davidovich made waves in the sporting world last week by announcing former world champion marathon runner Martín Fiz as a new member of his team.
Although Davidovich will continue working with his current fitness trainer, César Díaz, Fiz will advise the player from Rincón de la Victoria on methods to cope with adverse conditions.
"Welcome to #teamtsunami @maratonfiz," Davidovich posted on Instagram, accompanied by photos of the pair on the seafront in Fuengirola, where he lives. "Very happy that you are joining our family."
Fiz already has strong links to Malaga as ambassador, together with Abel Antón, of the Malaga Marathon. But now, the Olympian and World (1995) and European (1994) champion is strengthening his association with the area through Davidovich, who is 52nd in the ATP ranking and fifth in the national ranking, after Rafael Nadal, Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreño and Albert Ramos.
