Despite the transfer window closing a fortnight previously, Malaga completed their twelfth signing of the summer on Friday as they completed a free transfer for centre-back David Lombán.
The 31-year-old, who came through Valencia's academy, adds depth and experience to the Malaga defence.
"He is a player with a lot of experience. He can bring a lot," said coach Juan Ramón Muñiz, now happy with the depth at his disposal.
"We had three centre-halves [Luis Hernández, Pau Torres and Diego González] and one youth-team player [Abqar]. But Abqar is someone who needs to play at this stage of his career and we don't want to deny the reserve team someone of his quality."
Lombán, who broke through at the age of 20 with Valencia, went on to represent Salamanca, Xerez and Barcelona B in Segunda, before playing in La Liga for the last five seasons with Elche (2013-15), Granada (2015-17) and Eibar (last season).
