Some 133mm of rain fell (as of 4pm), of which 80mm were collected in just one hour. Paradoxically, the headquarters of Spain's Aemet state weather agency centre in Malaga, located in the El Cónsul district, was almost flooded today. It was place in the city where the most rain fell and one of the most significant rain gauges in the province. Needless to say, Aemet red warning for heavy rain and flooding was more than fulfilled.

Its director, Jesús Riesco, talking to SUR warned that there was still a lot of water to arrive in the province. "The heavy rains will continue in the same areas where the red warnings are active", in the city and in the easternmost part of the Costa del Sol, the Guadahorce valley and Axarquia areas, and at least until midnight.

Moreover, a new day will not bring with it the end of the deluge. The warning will be extended, but at an amber level, during the early hours of Thursday and into the morning. In this case, the greatest risk will be in the western area of the Costa del Sol and the Guadalhorce valley, although the rest of the province is not ruled out. Another 100mm could still be collected during his episode , although the evolution is uncertain. In any case, tomorrow it is expected that at least until the middle of the day it the storm will continue to affect the province of Malaga, before moving towards Huelva, Seville and Cadiz.

"The dynamics of the 'Dana' storm has created a surface squall (BFA); as the easterly has accelerated, it has been feeding the rains with moisture from the sea," added the meteorologist, hence the significant rainfall that has happened.
