Scheme extended to offer discounts up to 50 per cent on holidays within Andalucía

Low income households are entitled to the full discount while all other residents get 25 per cent off on breaks of at least three nights

The regional government on Thursday launched its 'tourist discount' up to 50 per cent off breaks within Andalucía for local residents.

Households with an income less than 20,000 euros get the full 50 per cent discount off breaks around the region, while everyone else gets 25 per cent off - as previously announced.

The holidays must be booked using a travel agency with the Andalucía certificate and the accommodation used must also be part of the Andalucía Segura scheme.

Junta to offer 25 per cent discount on local hotel stays

The aim of the scheme is to boost the tourism industry by encouraging residents to travel within their own region.

The discounts are up to 300 euros for a break of at least three nights, with a limit of three trips between now and the end of May.

Consult agencies and accommodation with the Andalucía Seguro certificate.
