The new designer-fashion outlet mall at Malaga's Plaza Mayor leisure complex opened its doors at last on Thursday.
Following a delay of several months while improved access roads were completed, 38 shops featuring luxury and top-name brands at reduced prices have started trading. In total, 66 stores will open in the extension to the existing Plaza Mayor centre that will be operated by McArthurGlen. It is the first development in Spain by this British-owned operator.
The new wing covers 17,750 square metres and has added 1,500 parking spaces to Plaza Mayor. It will be known as Málaga Designer Outlet.
The opening has been controversial as it was stopped last minute late last year as a promised widening to the adjacent MA-20 motorway had not been finished.
Now, with the road opening, traffic was flowing freely into Plaza Mayor, near the airport, on Thursday as shoppers discovered the stores.
