Constructor Pyomar SL has been given the green light to build 211 homes, shops, garages, car parking and a swimming pool in Calle Miguel Delibes in Marbella. The project has a budget of 27.1 million euros and the company has been given one year in which to start the building works.

This area of Nueva Andalucía is one of the few parts of Marbella currently being expanded as the resort still has an out-of-date master town plan which is over three decades old.

Announcing the approval, town councillor, Javier García emphasised the municipal commitment to "processing planning permission requests as quickly as possible". "Approving planning permission is always good news," he said.

García added that the objective of the local authority is "to encourage and promote the necessary plans so that all people have the right to access decent housing".
