Save Our Homes Axarquía (SOHA) have said that they are demanding a dialogue with the new administration at the regional government, the Junta de Andalucía, following the elections which saw a swing to the right earlier this month.
The organisation, which was set up 10 years ago to fight for justice for over 300,000 home owners in the area whose homes are built on non urbanisable land and are therefore not recognised as fully legal, are seeking assurances from the new government, which looks likely to see the Partido Popular leader, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, become president in January, that a solution is found, "once and for all" for the homes. Mayor of Alcaucín and SOHA spokesperson, Mario Blancke, said, "We hope to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the new government."
