Year after year, the residents of Algatocín keep the tradition of 'las mañanitas' alive, to welcome the Christmas period.

From 19 to 23 December, at six o'clock in the morning, the 'algotocileños' (as residents of the village are known), wake their neighbours by ringing the bell in the tower of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario church and singing carols in the street.

Each day a special Christmas mass is held at 6.30 am.
