The heavy rain on the Costa this autumn has taken its toll on the historic walls of the Gibralfaro, the castle on the top of the highest of the two hills in the centre of Malaga.

An interior-facing section of the north wall, on the opposite side from the sea, gave way last Saturday when there were visitors inside the castle, although nobody was injured.

The councillor for Culture at Malaga city hall, which runs the site, said that it would be repaired but an analysis was needed first from the regional government.
