Benalmádena hosts "essential" film festival

Malaga filmmaker and director, Carlos Taillefer, collected a special award during the 17th edition of the Benalmádena International Festival of Short Film and Alternative Cinema (Ficcab) last week.

The award celebrated the 40th anniversary of his film, Por la Gracia de Dios (By the Grace of God), a documentary about Semana Santa in Malaga.

At the opening ceremony in the Casa de Culture in Arroyo de la Miel, the director referred to the years of censorship and endorsed the "essential" role of festivals as a guarantee for the survival of the film.
