A year after Vélez-Málaga town hall and the Junta de Andalucía announced plans to demolish the slum at the entrance to Torre del Mar on the N340, Mayor Antonio Ferrer has been forced to admit that the final plans, which included rehousing the 30 families that live in the slums and turning the space, which is opposite the Weekend Beach festival site, into a public garden, were never finalised.
