Nobody in Gibraltar could have missed the fact that this was Dementia Action Week and World Alzheimer's Day, as several emblematic buildings were illuminated in purple and people dressed in the same colour as they took part in different events to mark the occasion. On Monday the Gibraltar Alzheimer's and Dementia Society (GADS) gave a talk at City Hall to raise awareness of the condition and encourage support and compassion, and on Tuesday hundreds took part in the Memory Walk from City Hall to the end of Rosia Road and back to John Mackintosh Square via Main Street.
