Although the box office at the Garrison Library will not open until 16 October, those keen to acquire their tickets for the Gibraltar Literary Festival early can now do so online at www.gibraltarliteraryfestival.com and www.buytickets.gi

This will be the fifth Gibunco Gibraltar Literary Festival, and will take place from 16 to 19 November. There will be something for everybody, with international and local speakers appearing at a variety of venues.

The final touches are still being put to the programme, but so far the authors who have confirmed their participation include Jonathan Meades, whose hilariously grumpy (as it has been described in a review) cookbook 'The Plagiarist in the Kitchen' is a major success. He will be speaking on Thursday 16th.

Another speaker on the Thursday will be Ingrid Seward, Editor in Chief of 'Majesty' magazine, whose book 'My Husband and I' will be published to coincide with the 70th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip on 20 November this year.

On Friday 17th Ray Keene will be talking about his book 'Mapping the Man Behind Mind Mapping', and Nicholas Parsons will regale his audience with 'Just Laugh A Minute'.

On Saturday 18th Dr Janina Ramirez will be giving 'An Art Lover's Guide to Barcelona', and there will be 'An Audience With Maureen Lipman'.

On Sunday 19th, John Blashford Snell will talk about A Life in Exploration and Christopher Lloyd will tell The Story of Gibraltar from earliest times to the present.

It must be stressed that these are just a very few of the speakers at this year's festival. Full information about participants, venues and ticket prices can be obtained from www.gibraltarliteraryfestival.com
