Students at the British International School of Marbella are celebrating after raising 2,478 euros for a local homeless charity.

The money was raised by pupils, staff and family members during two fundraisers at the school.

The first event saw pupils sell their artwork at an exhibition during Art Week, raising 928 euros.

The second fundraiser saw pupils, staff and family members raise 1,550 euros during the school's annual Christmas Fair.

The money is being donated to the charity Hogar Betania, a hostel run by volunteers that cares for homeless people in La Línea.

Sian Kirkham, Headmistress at BISM, said: "What a fantastic amount to raise for such a worthy cause. A big thanks to all the children, staff and family members who took part."
