The eleventh edition of the Feria de Plantas de Coleccíon, the plant fair, is to be held in La Paloma Park in Benalmádena next weekend. The three day event will commence on Friday 14 (Good Friday) and will continue until Sunday 16 April.

The show will present around 40 local and national horticultural specialists displaying collections of tropical and subtropical plants, cacti and succulents, as well as striking orchid displays and bonsai trees.

In addition to this colourful mixture, there will be stands offering aromatic herbs, bulbs, seeds and fertilisers, as well as information and tips concerning the cultivation and care of these and exotic plants.

The fair is organised by the parks and gardens department of Benalmádena town hall and is aimed at both amateur and professional gardeners.

The show focuses on promoting little known plants and the event attracts serious collectors, and keen amateur horticulturists looking for ways of making their gardens more attractive.

La Paloma Park currently houses a permanent collection of over 90 species of palm trees and one of the best collections of bamboo, cacti and other succulents in Europe.
