  • The 60,000 cubic metres of sand removed from the port will be used to replenish beaches

After months had passed without some larger fishing boats being able to enter La Bajadilla port, dredging of the built-up sand got under way on Tuesday.

The dredging, which will continue for up to a month, will remove up to 60,000 cubic metres of sand which will then be used to replenish the beaches in central Marbella ahead of Easter Week and the high season.

These actions will restore a depth of 4.5 metres
