The Uriclak device functions by exerting gentle pressure on the urethra and controlling the release of urine, thereby avoiding the use of catheters and incontinence pads. It consists of a fully homologised ring of soft medical material with a flexible internal structure. This mechanism means it can be opened and introduced into the penis. The manufacturers say it is not necessary to remove the device in order to urinate.
It is a very useful product for patients who have undergone prostate surgery, but is also suitable for older men who are unable to control involuntary leaks of urine. Uriclak costs 65 euros and is available without a prescription.
