International chess festival in full swing

The winner from 2016 will be taking part

This year's Tradewise Chess Festival is now under way at the Caleta Hotel and will continue until February 1st.

More than 500 people from over 60 countries are taking part, 264 of whom are Masters, and £200,000 will be given in prizes.

Leading the ranking this year are Levon Aronian (Armenia), Maxime Vachier Lagrave (France) and Hikaru Nakamura (USA), the winner in 2016.
