Regino Hernández can't make it past the qualifiers in the Snowboardcross World Cup

It has been a forgettable start to the year for Nerja snowboarder Regino Hernández, who failed to make the cut in the first round of the Snowboardcross World Cup in Valmalenco (Italy).

Hernández came 58th out of 63 last Friday in the event which was originally scheduled to take place last year in Bergamo (also Italy).

The 29-year-old, who hardly appeared in 2020 after fracturing two vertebrae and a wrist, must quickly pick up his form ahead of the World Championships in Idre Fjäll (Sweden) from 11 to 13 February.
