The Fuengirola Potros will compete in the Spanish top division for American football once again this coming season.
The configuration and the calendar for Serie A was confirmed on Monday after high-profile names such as the Valencia Firebats, the Santiago Black Ravens and the Granada Lions all announced their voluntary relegation back to their respective regional leagues.
The financial toll of competing in the top flight proved too much for these teams and could still affect the Potros and their limited annual budget.
The biggest expense is by far the travel, with the need to transport up to 30 players and staff, as well as equipment. As a result, the directors of the Fuengirola side (since 2013) are looking for sponsors.
The new season begins on 12 January and will conclude in April ahead of the play-offs in May. All teams in the division will have at least a couple of their games broadcast on LaLiga Sports.
