The regional medium-distance trains between Malaga and Seville will now also stop at the El Chorro-Caminito del Rey station, said Álora Mayor Francisco Martínez and PSOE national MP Nacho López on a visit to the area on Wednesday.

At present only two trains stop there daily in each direction and it is hoped that the service will increase back to five.

Both men also said that the town hall and the Public Works ministry were "still looking into" having the Malaga-Álora Cercanías train line extended to El Chorro.
