Malaga city hall has announced that it has begun fumigation, using biological larvicide, around the Guadalhorce estuary (close to the city's airport) to keep its mosquito population under control.

The sharp rise in temperatures (up to 30 degrees) expected over the long holiday weekend would provide optimum conditions for the insects to hatch and move to nearby residential areas.
