The project to build a hotel in Malaga Port is expected to be approved by the Planning Department at the city hall in the coming days. This comes after several modifications had to be made to the plan, including making the tower shorter.

The tower won't be 135 metres tall as planned; this decision was taken in light of technical concerns over the foundations.

Studies showed that their dimensions had to be reduced as they were required to be more than 40 metres away from the breakwater, shrinking the dimensions of the tower as a result.

Complaints about the skyscraper's visual impact on the Bay of Malaga were also considered.
