Council worker killed when van overturns

An employee of La Viñuela town hall was killed on Monday afternoon after the van he was a passenger in overturned.

Manuel Rodríguez, 50, who was married with three children, was carrying out quarterly readings of water meters at houses located 1.5 kilometres from La Viñuela town when the accident happened.

His colleague, Antonio, was driving the van at round 3pm when the vehicle overturned.

The reason for the accident is still unknown and there were no other vehicles involved. Antonio escaped with only minor injuries.
