Sad news of death of Maurice Xiberras

The flag on the Parliament building was flown at half-mast on Tuesday to honour the memory of Maurice Xiberras, whose death was announced this week. Xiberras was a former member of the House of Assembly and was a government minister from 1969 to 1972. He was also the Leader of the Opposition in the mid-1970s. The government expressed its sadness and condolences to his family.
