Not before June and not after October. At some time between those months, with the exception of July and August - which are statutorily vetoed, the regional elections will be held in Andalucía in 2022. This was stated by the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, in a television interview this Tuesday, 30 November.
Moreno said that his will is to exhaust the legislature, which technically concludes in summer since August is not a working month in Parliament, which should be dissolved the following month.
The president was asked if May would be a good month to hold the elections and he replied that October could also be. He also mentioned June, the prelude to summer, in which people "see things differently" with longer days and better weather.
However, Moreno specifically indicated out that the next regional elections will be held "between June and October".
However, he clarified that the evolution of the pandemic may influence the electoral date, since perhaps the elections must be brought forward to “gain strength and face what lies ahead.”
