Marbella came back from behind to defeat minnows Villarrubia 2-1 on Sunday. The result leaves David García Cubillo’s side in third place in Group IV of Segunda B, level on points with Badajoz in second.

It was the visitors who made the brighter start to the game, however, taking advantage of a sloppy pass in the centre of the pitch to set Fran Cortés away, who made no mistake with a clinical left-footed finish from the edge of the box.

Marbella had more of the ball throughout the game, and did have opportunities, with Óscar and captain Añón both passing up opportunities. Nevertheless, the visitors from Castilla la Mancha had a clear chance to double their lead, Arribas slicing at the ball when it fell to him in the box.

The hosts were stirred into action when they were again let off the hook as Ricardo Carvalho hit the bar. The equaliser came when Óscar plucked a searching ball from Redru out of the air and calmly finished from the edge of the six yard box.

When substitute Mustafá was bundled over in the box 10 minutes later, Samu Delgado stepped up to calmly slot the ball away and secure an important three points.
