Historic European triumph sparks huge celebrations across Malaga city

Unicaja were welcomed back like heroes on Thursday afternoon after their EuroCup triumph.

After a night when huge celebrations took place after the game near the Fuente de las Tres Gracias, the team set out on an open-top bus parade through Malaga city centre where supporters honoured their achievement, which came 11 years after their last success in the 2005-2006 Liga ACB season.

That was after the side went for an historic photo in Los Guindos with all of Unicajas reserve teams.

The trophy was then presented to the fans on the buss route to the Plaza de la Marina, where the Unicaja bank and foundation greeted the players, before they attended an official reception organised by Malaga city hall and led by mayor Francisco de la Torre.

Having welcomed their team back, the fans would go into the Rio Natura Monbus match all smiles.
