Marbella to invest two million euros to maintain its traffic light network

The council in Marbella will spend more than two million euros on the maintenance of its traffic light network over the course of the next five years.

This comes after the current maintenance contract expired and, with the council lacking both the resources and the specialist manpower necessary for the task, the new concession has been put out to tender.

The five-year contract (three years initially but with an option for two one-year extensions) is worth 2,085,738 euros, says the council and comes with an obligation to carry out specific improvements valued at 200,000 euros.

The service will ensure a 24-hour response to any technical issues or problems caused by traffic accidents.
