Politicians agree to study how to stabilise La Carihuela beach amid local fears over erosion

Tourism businesses have offered help to look at ways to protect their premises that suffer when storms damage the beach

An MPs' committee in Madrid has agreed to a study being carried out on ways to protect the shoreline at La Carihuela beach.

The famous beach is being increasingly eroded.

The study will look at a public-private initiative, including a possible breakwater costing between 1.5 and 2.5 million euros.
