The Starlite festival venue, an old quarry in Nagüeles behind Marbella, finally has all its planning permissions and licences in place. Question marks over permission to use the venue have been hanging over the event for the past two summers and at one point threatened to see the concert festival leave the town.
The Junta de Andalucía regional government, which is the owner of the site, has agreed at last to let Marbella council lease the old quarry for up to 24 more years. The council in turn sublets it to Starlite.
