A new hiking group called Walking with Guiris has been founded in Fuengirola with the aim of improving the integration of English-speaking residents and the Spanish community.

Organised by British expat Michael Griffiths and local teacher Charo García- Triviño, the group's first walk saw students from the Fuengirola official language school and a several expats come together during a ten-kilometre route from Mijas Pueblo to Los Boliches at the end of November.

Michael Griffiths said, "It's a good way to make new friends and learn to speak each other's language and understand the different cultures."

The group intends to organise similar walks and other activities in 2020.

For more information about joining, you can email Michael Griffiths on mickythegriff@hotmail.com.
