The Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria saw Gibraltar win seven medals in Schladming, including two gold medals on the final day.

The golds were won by 19-year-old alpine skier Francis Avellano in the novice slalom event, Gibraltar's first ever in the sport, before Daniella Vinent claimed a second in the 50m snowshoeing race.

Both Avellano and Vinent had taken medals earlier on in the games, the former with a bronze in the novice event in alpine skiing, while the latter's silver in the 25m snowshoeing event was won on the same day as Nicholas Danino and Gino Francis collected bronze and silver medals respectively in the same sport.

Samuel Santos also took silver in the intermediate Super G slalom event in alpine skiing.
