MALLORCA:

OD Port Portals

OD Hotels is renowned for its comprehensive calendar of cultural, culinary and social events for guests and locals alike - and OD Port Portals certainly shares that commitment to help guests connect with their destination and the locals. As a guest in Mallorca expect to have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the island's vibrant art, music and food.

Also, while at the property one can chill by the pool, partake of a tipple of two in the Lobby Lounge Bar, or have sundowners and dinner at the rooftop OD Sky Bar. Every Friday there's 'Burger Meets Gin', an evening food and drinks event to welcome the weekend. It attracts a cool local crowd and there's a menu of cocktails and tasty mini burgers.

From the hotel, it's a short walk to the upscale and lively marina of Puerto Portals - ideal if you're looking to eat out or just have a drink and people-watch. Hotel guests can rent OD electric scooters to reach the beaches of Palma Nova and picturesque coves like Cala Falcó. Palma's old town is a 15km taxi ride away.

El Llorenç

Opening in July, this Palma bay-view property promises 33 guest rooms; a spa with indoor pool; multi-terraced rooftop with a cocktail bar and infinity pool. Majorcan Chef Santi Taura is the talent behind the traditional island gastronomy to be offered at DINS Santi Taura.

Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden

This new hotel with spa has genuine 'wow' factor. Owner Don Mikael Hall has realised his vision for authentic luxury, creating one of the finest small luxury hotels in Spain. The mansion house with walled garden and pool brings the glamour and elegance of a bygone age together with the discreet use of technology and all the creature comforts one might expect from a contemporary, exclusive hotel. Guest suites feature: custom made furniture, like the bespoke in-room cocktail bar, and the smart TV disguised within a large gilt mirror; king-size beds have adjustable electric mattresses; period features like a marble fireplace or even ceiling frescos; and modern features including large bathtubs.

Dining at Botanic is a wholesome, nourishing affair by Chef Andrés Benítez. The kitchen is open all day offering dishes that can be enjoyed at any hour - including all-day breakfasts. The evening sees a sophisticated, seasonal tasting menu of healthy gourmet cuisine.

Zafira Palace Palma Nova

Resort for families and couples looking for a good-value 5-star hotel close to the beaches of Palma Nova. 240 suites, each with terrace or balcony. Rooftop 2-bedroom Zafira Owner's Suites are ideal for families. For couples looking for luxury, the Zafira Penthouse Suites include a large terrace, daybed and jacuzzi.

This property with its pools and wellness spa is all about relaxation, so if you want to take it up a beat you have the bars of Palma Nova and Magaluf only a short stroll away and the beach is around a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Glòria de Sant Jaume

Sophisticated bolthole in the city centre, between Palma's chic Avenida Jaime III (the main shopping street) and the historic Rambla. Fourteen impeccable guest rooms have lots of 19th century features, and contemporary indulgences. The all-day café, restaurant and cocktail bar, El Patio, is the latest hotspot for eating out. Executive Chef Javier Gardonio and his team have created a unique Palma dining experience, with a menu that combines homespun sharing plates, creative fusion and elegant fine dining.

Fera Restaurant & Bar

This fabulous restaurant with good value tasting menus by Chef Simon Petutschnig truly captures the buzz of Mallorca's modern gastronomy. It's fair to say that the whole experience is a feast for the senses - the restaurant is in a wonderful palatial building, with interiors defined by original art, and bold design that makes the meal even more memorable.

Can Frasquet

Gourmet hamburger restaurant offering artisan burgers made with organic beef, served with homemade sauces, and fresh hand cut fries. There's gourmet veggie burgers too!
