With finances limited in the short term, Malaga are looking to their academy for the next crop of first-team players and this week announced the thirteenth player to commit to a new deal so far this season.

The latest to sign on the dotted line was forward Loren Zuñiga (son of the former Malaga player of the same name). The 18-year-old, who has made massive strides in his development, came off the bench against Logroñés on Sunday to make his debut.

Loren has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2023-24 season.

His renewal followed that of right-back Ale Benítez last week. The 20-year-old, who made his debut in the first game of this season against Tenerife, has signed until 2022, with an option for a further year.

The pair join Luis Muñoz, Juande, Ismael, Cristo and Kellyan (who signed new deals in the summer), as well as Ramón, Haitam, Larrubia, Gonzalo, Julio and Kevin in committing their future to the club in the last six months.
