Malaga are through to the next round of the Copa del Rey after beating Real Oviedo at La Rosaleda on Wednesday.

It took them nearly two hours to find a goal in what was the first of two matches against the Asturias side in three days.

Wednesday's game lacked pace and saw the sides overcautious and tired, slowed down by persistent rain, and an unusually chilly 11 degrees on the thermometer.

At the end of ninety minutes, the scores remained nil-nil and it took Malaga until the 118th minute of play to score.

In the end, the goal that keeps them in the competition came from Pablo Chavarría.

Malaga and Oviedo meet again at La Rosaleda on Saturday at 6.15pm in their Segunda División game televised by Movistar.
