Alejandro Davidovich, from Malaga, has once again reached a career-best ranking this week, climbing two places to 62nd in the ATP standings.

In doing so, the 21-year-old overtook Feliciano López to become the seventh best Spanish tennis player, though he is also very close to overtaking Fernando Verdasco (61st) and Pablo Andújar (56th).

Last Friday Davidovich came close to securing the biggest victory of his career so far, going 6-2 5-2 up against world number nine Diego Schwartzman. However, he ultimately missed out on a semi-final spot in the Bett1Hulks Championship, losing the second set 6-7 (3) and the third 1-6.
