Guardia Civil step up inspections of lorries and coaches on main roads

The Guardia Civil have been taking part in a Europe-wide initiative this week to step up controls on lorries and coaches travelling on main roads.

They will be checking that drivers' journey records are correct and that the vehicles are in apparent working order. In 2018, lorries were involved in 11 per cent of fatal accidents, with coaches in one per cent.
