Camino de Santiago killer gets 23 years

The FBI offered to help in the search for the murdered American tourist

A court has sentenced Miguel Ángel Muñoz Blas to 23 years in jail for the murder of American tourist Denise Pikka Thiem in April 2015. Denise was

walking the popular Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route across northern Spain when she disappeared. During the extensive search for her body, which lasted until September 2015, the FBI offered its help to Spanish authorities.
