Plan Infoca brigade declares Sierra Bermeja forest fire ‘stabilised’

The Junta de Andalucía’s specialist firefighters and members of Spain's emergency military unit still have work to do before it can be described as controlled

At nine o'clock this Friday morning (10 June) the Plan Infoca firefighting director declared the Sierra Bermeja fire ‘stabilised’.

However, hundreds of people are still working on the ground, supported by aircraft dropping water, in the affected area as they battle to gain complete control of the fire.

The director of Infoca’s Regional Operations Centre, Juán Sánchez, made the statement to press and the information was relayed on the organisation’s social media accounts.
