Mijas welcomed an extra 160 new companies in 2020 despite the effects of the pandemic

A total of 160 new businesses opened their doors in Mijas in 2020 despite the pandemic, councillor for Industry Andrés Ruiz announced.
Ruiz insisted that the council was doing all it could to speed up all procedures in order to boost the economy and pointed to a number of new ventures as examples, including the opening of several new businesses on Avenida Mare Nostrum in La Cala and the arrival of the Florida Mijas Beach restaurant and venue.
The councillor also highlighted the work of the council in supporting the self-employed and SMEs through its 12-million-euro Plan Orea, which he says has reached a total of 6,050 workers.
