The park boulevard which Marbella council is hoping to transform is finally starting to take shape. The area was previously used as a car park and for the market on Mondays but is now set to become part of the Arroyo Primero boulevard. The project was first announced at the end of 2016 and is nearly six months delayed in completion. A major factor in its delay has been the removal of 1.7 million euros of funding from the provincial government.
Several of the features of the urban park have been visible for weeks, including the steps of the open-air auditorium. Other features will include a kiosk bar with a terrace, children's play areas, umbrellas to create shaded areas and fountains. The council also plans to include green spaces with bushes and trees and ample paving for the entire area, as well as sanitation facilities with drains.
